144 mile round trip to the dealers to get some suspension work done under warranty. Roof down all the way. Think it will take a week for the blood to reach my extremities again though, it was ruddy freezing (even though I was fairly well wrapped up)!!! Think a trip to A & E would have been required if I hadn’t got the heated seats - what a brilliant invention!!!!!
Lots of photos and videos being taken by passengers in multiple cars that overtook me 👍.
Suspension sorted but have discovered that my radiator now has the same leak as many other so kit ordered and now booked back in for February for first annual service and rad repair…
One thing that happened on the way there, as I was “swiftly” heading down the A1, overtaking lots of HGVs etc, the roof started to rise up/unfold which was somewhat distracting. I think a combination of the weird CX aero plus draught/out wash from the lorries caused it to catch the air. Of course I realised it probably wasn’t the best idea to release the parachute until landing so decided to stop post haste and fold it back again…have to say the dealership were brilliant as, once I’d mentioned my observation, the trim shop immediately went off and manufactured a thin strip, with velcro, that now wraps round the folded roof ensuring it stayed down coming home and resulted in less need for fresh underwear….great service imo especially as it was unexpected and not requested nor charged for.
Now spending the afternoon warming up in front of the fire.

When I bought my Roadster way back in 2008, I think it was Steve Simmonds who made velcro'd straps to hold the hood in place when lowered. I have a pair on the shelf. The material is similar to Mohair and they are a few inches wide.

A proper hood cover will also stop that and the easy-up looks far neater inside one when being driven

I have some of those straps on my trad. It also makes life easier if you release the hood whilst down to load stuff into the parcel shelf as the hood stays in one piece

Loving my sport black and these crisp winter days can be lovely. My village won national tree of the year. It’s a stubborn old thorn.
