Folks, I have had an isue with my plus four in that there is little or no sound output from the front speakers. I had the factory look at it and they removed some padding in front of the speakers which had little or no effect so I have just lived with all the sound from behind!! Now - the internet radio in Ireland is very patchy and DAB does not exist so I have decided to mount a Pioneer radio in the panel behind the seats(similat to the new lockable box) and connect it to the amplifier instead of the Musicstream unit. I did a "Dry run of the connections yesterday and - lo and behold -- the fade and balance adjustment of the radio unit produces perfect sound from all four speakers!!!! I just connected the pioneer head unit to the Kenwood 1804 unit as per its instructions so I dont know how the factory made a "Bags" of it!! Anyway - I will complete the install when I get delivery of the aerial for the radio and will enjoy the full sound -- the Bluetooth connects now to the radio so all functions of the musicstream are available and it has the benefit of providing a handsfree answer of phone calls should they come in! RESULT!!!!

V jealous!!!! Thanks for the update - first annual service taking place in a couple of weeks (hoping they repair the rad!!!) and the lack of sound from the front speakers was something I was intending on raising once again - it frustrates me more than it should…. HB

I recall reading somewhere that at some point Morgan changed the Model of Kenwood bluetooth receiver that is fitted. Early ones had very little output to the front speakers, later ones either had a fader or the preset fader was set with a more front bias. By using a different head unit you are bypassing the receiver.

Great result Robbie Having a car radio with balance and front/rear fader makes speaker balancing so much easier particularly if front and rear speakers are differing impedances as the lower ones will absorb the most power.

I have a MY22 car and asked about the amp whilst it was in build. I was told there was no plan for a fader and as far as I know it's the same model as in MY21 cars. That having been said, as Headless Blue will confirm, my system can nearly blow the doors off my car.

Theres a complete sound system on Ebay stripped out of a 2020 Plus Four. looking at the photo it looks like a Kenwood KAC M1804 amp a pretty basic unit with no controls coupled with a Music Steam bluetooth device that connects the phone to the Amp & has just a volume control. The front & rear speakers look identical.
If the amp was replaced with something like the Kenwood KAC 1824BT which seems popular on boats & motorcycles, you could omit the Music stream device & connect direct to the amp. It comes with a IP x-5 marine rated remote to control volume & skip tracks etc if streaming from your phone. The Amp itself has a fader control on it & I understand that you can use an app from your phone to set it up.
I understand that some of the other slightly less basic Amps also have a physical fader control on them. Its a screw slot not a knob so intended to be set once & left. I wonder if some cars have a different model of amp even if by accident.

I can defo confirm that John’s system is rather ruddy loud (hooligan level…). Not sure whether it was Covid jab, driving my own Mog, or listening to JJR’s system that has left me with tinnitus….😇🥳🤣🤣🤣🤣😱 HB
