I don't know for sure but if the "quick drive down a bumpy road" method doesn't free it off then getting the back wheel out, the drum mechanism out, and re-setting the handbrake adjuster is probably the only reliable way of sorting it out. There is a port in the back plate that is probably designed to allow the mechanism to be re-set with the tip of a screwdriver but on the M3W you'll need to take the wheel out to get access to the port so... If you do take the wheel out I would suggest that replacing the locator block between the shoes with the adjustable type is a smart move, it really does make working on the brakes much easier. From the Alternative Parts List it is; "Replacement manual shoe adjuster, mod to fixed item. AP Lockheed v4158-129 SP, Delphi LA18129, Ford 1560018, GM 9961958" Have you heard any logical explanation of why the backing plate was not designed to i stall a few degrees off so the rear brake adjuster would be accessible while in the vehicle? It makes zero sense to adjust and pray you have it correct when you reinstall the unit.

Those pictures of the rear brakes look soooo similar to my car trailer brake shoes! Probably not but can't beleive Morgan developed their own rear brake design for the three wheeler when its built in such low numbers.
On another car of mine which had an unusual clutch friction plate, when it wore out, I took the old plate to a company near Bordon who put a new friction surface on it for me. Company now gone unfortunately. Maybe there is a company out there who can reline brake shoes? There are, but not worth it as new OE ones aren't expensive & don't forget leading / trailing have different thickness linings which a lick 'n stick relining co will probably cock up

I guess I will spend the day pulling the brake drum off to alleviate by dragging brake issue......what fun It might be worth having a new wheel cylinder (CW15953) handy to pop in as this rusting up internally and seizing up is a common fault if the car has not been subject to two yearly fluid changes which is what most of us do on the 4 wheelers. I used this outfit when I rebuilt the brakes on my 1999 Plus 8 eight years ago and they are good quality and still going strong. Good luck.

My Roadster cylinders lasted for around 14 years. If you change brake fluid regularly and check the cylinders at service time, and apply rubber grease under the boots it will prolong life. Lack of use and lack of attention shortens life drastically.

Pulled the drum off, released the brake adjuster and all is well with the world.

I'd love a rear disc brake. Still waiting for the M3W Services Rear Disc Brake Conversion. I'm on the waiting list. Last update was in August they were working on making sure it could be supplied in kit form.

Two things on my list, the Bleazley conversion and the disc brake set up
