so no J turns in the new M3W? I presume the moral of the story here is to think of it less as a "car" and more of a "motorcycle".

Rolling with a car (or M3W) is unfortunately not a as if you are sitting upright, hands on the steering wheel feets at the pedals....nice, slow and easy.

It is more like taking a quick trip in the tumble dryer being unable to control your limbs. Your head, arms and even legs will be all over the place whilst hanging in the seatbelt upside down...hoping it to stop soon. Debris, glas and car parts flying around....

I have tried it a couple of times going with friends that has over rated their skills (cars written off). Can not recommend the experience.

So I will stay as low as possible in my M3W, fit a racing harness, wear a helmet when pushing the limits. At least the mooose problem is not that big with a M3W - you will pass underneath

Yep, it sounds as if you are talking from experience all right. The closest I ever got was putting a car on its side and sliding down the road with me and 3 pals in it. Luckily no one hurt but the car was write off. This did happen quite a few years ago mind.

Yep! Know that feeling. Three rolled three times and finished the right side up. No injuties bar a couple of glass nicks. Amazingly the car was repairable. I was going too fast and had one dodgy tire, the spare, fitted after a good one went flat.

Good idea! Not sure what a higher roll hoop will do with the looks....but preprepared holes/fittings for a 5-point harness (or why not have it as a complete option) would be lovely.

probably would look a lot like an AC Cobra hoop bars if it was tall enough to truly protect the driver. Aesthetics probably did away with this. The hoops are attached later in the build process, so presumably taller ones could be fitted later. I personally would rather go with the smaller ones though. Whats next, ABS, airbags, etc. If we really want stability maybe there could be an optional 4th wheel...LOL!

i've (touch wood) never rolled a car, but in a past life I have fallen off bikes during races on more than one occassion. Slow motion, sky, earth, sky, earth, sky, earth,. . .ambulance

I've been fortunate - while I've slid up the road a number of times I've never rolled. That, as you say, is when it gets painful - the body roll can turn into boucing and that ground can be HARD...
Nearly two years without a bike - I don't think I'll go back now, the Mog kind of makes up for it!

Yes I remember the joy of sliding off a bike especially on black ice (twice)and gravel halfway round a hairpin in Algeria.
I still have the scars on my sking from the last one.

About the only way you could slip on ice in San Diego would be if someone were to spill a martini in the driveway.

Come to think of it, I'd better wear a helmet!
