Certainly is. If it is indeed a sealed unit one would hope some thought had gone into uniformity of illumination, matching similar instruments of the series in terms of colour, intensity and when dimmed. Not to mention LED longevity of course.

i recently fitted a new Smiths analogue clock to my Mog, and the illumination is also in the 'chocolate teapot' category. At some point I need to see if I can find a brighter bulb (LED?) that's compatible. From what I remember from fitting, it is tiny and not a size I'm familiar with. Not to mention LED longevity of course. You would certainly like to think so but I can 100% say that no such thought has gone into it. Shoddy in the extreme on such a car I was assured was a top of the range 21st Century car. I still love it to death though.

Daft question but have you tried the dimmer rheostat? Does it work.

Yes I have and it has been to Morgan for them to look a whilst it was being serviced. They couldn’t sort. In addition from another source in Morgan who doesn’t work in the service department they currently have no answers for this problem. It doesn’t matter how this is approached the illumination on that clock is simply not acceptable.

Yep dead simple on a trad but from memory the dimmer than has no effect.

The dimmer does work on the clock of the Plus Four, it goes from very dim to nothing. 😡
