Had to use Belle to get to Nene Valley Railway and back yesterday. Only about 14 miles there….however it was properly chucking it down with rain coming home. Pleased to say pretty much dry inside the cockpit.
However the journey was bloody frightening - because I had to slow right down and would have a hazard to other traffic on a major road- had to go v slowly along multiple country lanes/flooded back roads to get home because the flipping heated windscreen didn’t work at all. Couldn’t see a ruddy thing the whole ruddy journey even despite constantly wiping with a microfibre cloth. Am somewhat annoyed because I had raised it as an issue at first service so clearly need to raise again. I realise it is only a minor thing but it’s safety related and I knew it would be something I’d rely on in rain/cold weather (and was important factor for me when buying as I use year round in all conditions). Belle coped with flooded roads v competently and, even with water from massive puddles breaking fully over the bonnet/roof etc nary a drop entered. Was relieved to make it back home in one piece in all honesty 23 miles later…

May be worth checking the fuse, I'm not familiar with CX wiring (yet) I assume listed in the owners handbook ?

Longest single day trip in the CX mog since we got her…280 mile round trip to Tutts Clump near Reading and back to open an activity centre for special needs kids in memory of my little bruv.
It took a total of 7 hours unfortunately, primarily due to v. bad delays mainly on A34. Nonetheless, we both felt remarkably ok by the end albeit a bit tired. These new CX cars are far better long distance cruisers which was well satisfying! Belle didn’t miss a bit and was a complete pleasure to drive. Only saw one other mog on the whole trip (titanium PlusSix near services A43/M40 junction) so we are still part of a pretty exclusive gang….
Luverly stuff….
It was a good day

Great picture and what a lovely trip in memory of your Brother he would be so proud of you sat on your shoulder
I remember his passing was a key factor in your Morgan enjoyment so he would love it that you and Mrs HB share that joy...

Thanks Rich - it was a moving day I must admit…the activity centre is life changing for the kids that go there so we are really chuffed how some of his estate was spent, he would have loved to have access when he was younger.
Best wishes

We ended up going to the Bull in Stanford Dingley (last went there in 1985, when I lived in Tutts Clump with the parents who are still there). V nice food there and is much more gentrified than it used to be….Defo recommend it Steve….

Turns out it was the fuse. No understanding from dealership what may have caused it to blow (possibly happened when they replaced the last windscreen) but now replaced and fingers crossed…

yep, but last sunday
I think it drives nicier with an automatic gearbox and the steering is over-servoed
and I'm still adapting to the long wheelbase; steers so much different compared to its german stablemates
