For many years now I've photostated the real tax disc and put the original away, copy sits on windscreen.

We have a property tax on vehicles in Italy (except vintage vehicles where there is a small road tax. You have to pay it even if the vehicle is off the road. On a 2 litre 150 HP car it is about €310 a year. No tax disk needs to be displayed.

Before I bought our first Morgan I found a Desmo Type Vacuum Holder (one with the screw knob at the back) in an attempt to be 'Period'. It has a green Morgan Badge in the centre of the knob.(£9.99 + £1 Postage on Ebay....

It occasionally 'drops off' but I persevere with it. Initially, I had a problem locating the tax disc so that the Morgan wings were level and right way up

I had one of those multi allen screw type on the Jag. and What a frustrating job to change the disc on a sloping windscreen. That was soon binned in favour of the twistlock type.

Desmo Type

Being American, we like to protest most forms of tax. I keep my County Tax sticker in the glove box. I don't want to spoil my view through the windscreen. The car is so old that I had to pay $1 in tax this year for the car.
