That’s great thanks. 😊 I found a picture of a Wanner next to a cartridge type and didn’t appreciate the size of them. I understand now 👍

Hand fill. Straight forward and not messy if you do it properly.

That's why tubs of grease have that plastic disc with a hole in on top of the contents ... you take the end off your gun, position the open barrel of the gun over the hole then press down .... squirts a column of grease straight up into your gun .... slide it sideways to nip it off at the bottom then replace the end of your gun and release the spring.

Yup, works well for me. Pressure it up and open the bleed screw, tighten it down again and away you go.

Probably been asked before but I’m new to all this so can anyone advise on a good quality grease gun that I can use on my 2014 4/4 front suspension.
Thanks . All good advice here, but my advice would be to get one, which ever brand you go for that can be squeezed with one hand, a bit like you do with a mastic gun.

Another +1 for a Wanner but fitted with a flexible hose which makes greasing a Morgan much easier.

Re filling gun, first you twist large black knob at base of cylinder and pull on chain to take pressure off sprung plate before placing over filler plate in grease tub. Check that the tub of grease has the disc with a hole in, not all makes do. On my Wanner gun (purchased in 1973, chrome plating now worn through) I have swopped the nozzle over to the alternative position to make a straight rather than 90 degree gun.

Check that the tub of grease has the disc with a hole in, not all makes do.. Yeah, the "red n tacky" doesn't, hence the spoon method

Swopping the disc from another tub is easier than using a spoon!
