Noticed a couple of innovations of note for a couple of TM regulars:

New wheel protection guard for those with scuffed black Speedster wheels..

Another innovation which our very own Mr Phil Royle might find useful for those unwanted car park accidents:

Also there is a very nice Speedster for sale at the Factory..I have offered £40,000 cash and a life time membership of Greggs..

The Sales Department said they will let me know.

I am hopeful..

Anyway, SBM got there first, me second, Kev last. The full English didn't materialise because the gas was temporarily off unexpectedly so we managed bacon and/or sausage rolls.

Steve Morris passed through while we were breakfasting and took the time to stand and chat for a while. He knows most of our group.....................

Lots of new CX Morgans outside:

Next is something very special: A Trad GDI, with special body. Might even be called SP2.......

Look closely and you will see that the bonnet corners are rounded off, as is the cowl and bulkhead to match.

Jeepers!! .... seeing the underbonnet of the plus 6 and plus 4 confirms my choice of a lowly '70s crossflow 🙂 ..... wonderful cars though they are, that Medusa's haircut of pipes and widgets is just too daunting for the bush-mechanic in me!! .... anything other than the most basic servicing would be an 'off to the dealer' job! .... which is not where my current philosophy tends to

And in conclusion..............

[Linked Image]

The last time I was at the factory was October 2019, when I went down for the AR flash to be done on my GDI. Since then there have been some amazing changes. The Aero shed which later housed the PDI bays is now as shown in the later images. The reception area and facilities are much more modern, but parts are still recognisable under the new veneer.

Building work is still underway and the old parts and later AR area is a building site. Even though this was Saturday, the visitor centre was busy. There are a lot of cars in production and the whole thing gives off a welcoming and thriving vibe, even though the factory is almost deserted at the weekend.
