I first encountered Salcombe in 1969 and it was normal then but over the years all has changed and the place is full up with Chelsea tractors big Tesla's and Electric Porkers you know the humungous looking van type things and as you suggest SUV's litter the streets.

Our best ever visit there was just post lockdown in 2020 it was totally deserted other than the locals going about their business.

We know three local families there that have inherited their properties otherwise it is a non starter for the local occupations which saddens me as this is happening very quickly now in Dartmouth too.

Today a short run with some nice curves over Schienerberg, close to Konstanz. Passed Stein am Rhein and back home.
It was a little fresh without the windows...

Wednesday i brought the 4/4 to the Morgan Dealer to check the breaks. Since end of winter there is a kind of stumble
when breaking. It is only a little rust on the disks, nothing that needs to be fixed immedately, but with a big effect.

When i arrived at Morgan, Mr. Lundgren asked me if a want to have a coffee in the office or a testride with a new tuned
Plus six with 400 HP. I've choosen the coffee, didnt want to be tempted doing something stupid innocent
It ended as expected, i didnt get the coffee. This Plus six is the craziest car i have ever driven. My former 911 GTS
or the R8 V10 from a friend are boring lame ducks shocked2
Good it is far too expensive - think i prefer going two years earlier to pension wink

Short cobweb drive this morning. Glorious weather. Another shorty soon to deliver eggs to the grandchildren.
Might look at an inland trip over the next couple of days. Definitely avoiding the tourist magnet places on the coast!

Our nearest petrol station is 2 miles away. Far too short a journey. Far too nice a day. Managed a tour round local villages over some of my favourite roads and a full tank of Shell V-Power in a 17 mile round trip.

Glorious day, only a few local miles but shirt sleeves and no heating! Spring is here....
A green flush on all the trees, bluebells appearing.
I'm keeping away from main roads until Tuesday...too many impatient idiots on the roads, already nasty accident closing the A338 between Nunton/Bodenham to the south of Downton most of the day.

I'll be out tomorrow englandwave

Trip over to Flag Fen near Peterborough, then to the Olive Grove at Oundle, and a nice cross country hack to Sywell and Beckworth Emporium. Lovely weather and roads pretty clear.

Went out to fill up with petrol from the station 2 miles away, and managed to do 40 miles on the way home. Trickling through the centres of Malmesbury and Tetbury I got 4 separate 'Nice car' shouts from pedestrians, which was nice.

As with all of Gloucestershire, the main A roads were fairly busy and 50 mph processions, but once on the minor roads they were all NSL and pretty much deserted so much fun could be had.

A small milestone, the car ticked over 124,000 miles - which means I've done just 4,000 miles in the last 3.5 years.

A quick refueling trip to my nearest BP in Dartmouth with E5 and pleasantly surprised it's down to 1.76 a Litre from 1.80 on 24th March last fill.
So a quick 30 miles later on B roads and the smile was there for myself and others I met along the way.

It could be me imagining it but I fancy since changing over exclusively to BP E5 I am getting a lot more welcome crackles and pops and bangs on overrun..

I like that Jon.
I commented to the boss that I'm getting 23mpg on E5 and she said "you're not trying hard enough" smile as she knows 21 is my norm..
