Those wheels do look so much better.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Those wheels look fabulous on your car Peter and I can't believe how light they are!

They do look fantastic: I'm glad there is agreement!

The wheel design started out as an exclusive for the AeroMax and after that production run ended the wheels were available, at a significant premium, on later Aeros.
As Tarka was built as a "show" car the factory fitted them, for which I'm incredibly grateful.

They are made by Rays Racing in Japan, they are forged, one reason that they are both light and strong.
I can't see them on the Rays website and MMC don't have them available, I understand.

I've spent far too long looking at rays wheels https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/choose.php?lang=ja&
- the Max pattern are a variant of Gram Lights 57: Rays change the designs regularly.

So currently in a similar ballpark we have:
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/wheel.php?lang=ja&wheel=57EX_D
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/wheel.php?lang=ja&wheel=57XR

The wheels you have identified are cast, the AeroMax wheels are forged.
This is the closest match...
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/wheel.php?lang=en&wheel=S5-RR

Their 19" forged wheels seem to be about 80,000 Yen, so close to £500, plus shipping, import duty and VAT...
Lichfield in the UK are an authorised distributor.

https://www.litchfieldmotors.com/

Might be interesting to ask them for a price....

MMC sold the AeroMax at £2500 a set of 4, I believe.

I found a small window of a couple of hours yesterday afternoon on the bank holiday weekend to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the Aero! Stopped in Ashdown Forest, East Sussex for a quick pic:

indeed Peter, I was looking at pattern rather than method - and there isn't a forged Gram Lights 57 in the range right now...

Running 18" wheels I could be tempted by https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/wheel.php?lang=en&wheel=ZE40TA_III if they turn up in something other than blue, which wouldn't work on my car.
One of my supplied wheels was dented - I think by a spectacularly sharp ridge in the road outside Poole Harbour - it's been made round again, but long term I'll need to replace them.

You won't dent a Rays forged wheel, they seem to be incredibly strong, and light!
Yes, in silver or gunmetal they would look cool on your S5.

I’m off to the Cotswold avec my favourite lady for a week with other couples in our village.

It’ll include a visit to the Factory on the Thursday.

Hope it doesn’t rain
