The mats in my 3 Wheeler are a pain in the ar5e so am mulling over sorting some in chequer plate. Firstly does anyone sell these and secondly if I do my own what thickness should I use?

I'm quite happy with my Coco mats - they fit well and stay put.

Mine work perfect. The only one teasing me was the one just in front of the pedals, where i put my ankles. I fixed that one with Velcro adhesive tape. High quality and hard ones from 3M. It doesn't move at all now. And I can pull it up and th Velcro stays in place.

I use velcro too, works wonders on a lot of things needing to be held in place.

Jonathan 1.5 - 2.0 mm will be plenty thick enough, find a local metal fabricator, they will cut them to size for you - take good measurements or make some cardboard templates.

I used 1mm thick aluminium sheet on the mat near the pedals. Bought from diy chain B&Q.
I used pop rivets with washer backing to fix it. Been in place for a few years and still ok.
It was mk2 as mk1 was a bit small and I kept catching my heel on the edge.
The 1mm thick is flexible enough to form in other areas too.

Also think about the water ingress! Our 3-Wheelers can take a lot of water if you're caught under heavy rain! And having water and humidity between two metal plates.... it's not a good idea. Rust will appear sooner than later!
