Lovely coastal run out today to Chelsea on Sea, topped up with E5 at my local BP, now £1.999 per Litre innocent so near enough £30 quid in fuel today grin2, worth every last penny my ears are still resounding with that rumble..

I did give Sea Tac Tom a thought too and hope he is happy with his Aston.

Well worth it. I think my relatives who lived in Slacombe in the 60s would be amazed at the price of fuel today.

I went for quick drive along the seafront & bought some onions at Spar as we had run out , £2.40/ kg I realised later or roughly 50p each. 50 p used to buy me spag bol & a glass of red at the sphaghetti house on Totttenham Courst Rd in the late 70s. & was my daily allowance as a student. I must be getting old. oldgit

Indeed, I heard today that forecourt "drive off's" have hit a new high. Friends and relatives in Norfolk reporting vans diesel tanks being drilled and drained, be careful where you park lads.
The Cat nicking still seems to be popular too.

Like the Spag Bol tale, we may all be getting old but we're still here enjoying the day thumbs

Indeed, I had a CATloc fitted yesterday and chatting to the service mgr they had suffered three 'done' in one night off the forecourt a couple of weeks ago despite multiple CCTV, he said it's not just the replacement CAT cost but the other damage done ripping it out

Epic drive back from Fort Augustus in a shade under seven hours. Wet to pack the Morgan, and the first 200 miles were in strong winds and torrential rain.

Empty roads most of the way after an early breakfast and 8.30 start. No leaks, except over Glen Coe, where the strong winds lifted my door flap and sprinkled my arm with droplets.

This is proper Morgan motoring and highly recommended, apart from packing in the wet.

Nothing comes close to what the Highlands can offer as a driving experience.

Only saw two interesting cars. A Caterham and a prewar Bentley.

We drove down to St Romain and Le Rochepot for a tour of the vineyards then up to the garage at Bel Air for their monthly car meet - pre-war Citroens and pre 1990 bikes were the themes. Lots of other nice cars, we were in the only Morgan there.

Cat thefts are a worry for most cars, but I wonder if would be thieves would look at a Morgan and think that they probably wouldn't have cats fitted as they look vintage.

Took the roadster for a spin today just to do some shopping. When stopped at some traffic lights, I heard a mother telling her kids to "look at that old banger". Thankfully, her child corrected her by saying "mam, it's looks old, but it's not a banger" 😂

Nice run over to Worcester on Friday for 'TumpFest' (a few old school mates camping near the Whittington Tump). Saturday morning, over to MMC for look around the 'Road and Track' Day. Had a good nose around the Super 3, met up with John Wynn again (this is becoming a habit smile ) and had a chat with Jon Hildred (he used to train with some of my family). Although I was clear on the breathalyser when I left the Tump, I was a little knackered after the partying so only spent an hour there. Lunch and a nice shower at my parents, then back to the Tump for round two,

Left early this morning and had a lovely bimble back - chat at the lights with an old boy in a MGA, on his way to MG Live. Must have been a vintage Lorry rally somewhere, as passed a ton of them. Got about 10 miles from home and met a lovely little red F Type, and then a few minutes later a Red +8 with rollcage and their flying helmet wearing pilot.

As ever, my little Mog was faultless. Gorgeous weather, so had the screen down all weekend smile
