Heinz,

Very true.

In the past 10-years I have experienced: -

A power train failure on a new BMW X5 4.8is - the problem was sporadic but happened whilst driving the vehicle. After having the car for almost 3-months to repair the issue, BMW agreed to buy it back

ABS failure on a new Porsche 911

So many faults in the 3-years of Range Rover ownership (the car was new at time of purchase) that I cannot even document them all; however, for a start: full A/C failure 3-times, air suspension failure, SatNav failure, Bluetooth failure, dashboard rattles, etc, etc...

There are others but you are correct, modern cars are not free from issues.

Depends how long we would stay at MMC we could extend the relevant set from Tea & cake to beer and malt in the evening cheers
Anyway that would be a very nice event. Who would like to share the thrilling day, we could talk about a good fitting date for everyone.

More or less down the road for me so I don't need an excuse to meet up at the factory!

As a first up suggestion,

I would like to propose a weekend rather than a week day, if that works ok with the factory visit aspect of the meet-up.

Secondly it would be referable to do it after the salty roads have cleaned up a bit...say late March - early April ?

Does that sound ok ? listening

Sales are slow, I can believe that.

When I ordered my first Morgan back in the 80's there was a six year waiting list, a divorce at the time of the build meant that I never even saw my car frown

But the profit from that meant that another was ordered and three years later I was in the happy position to buy one.

Now as people have said you can have a new Morgan within weeks.

But is that demand slipping, or more cars being produced?

I find it interesting looking at the classic car market, over the last few years the prices of ford crapy's early Escorts and even mini vans have rocketed. Why? In my opinion its people who are reaching a certain age wanting to relive their youth.

I think the Morgan may suffer the same, in trad form its archaic and maybe only appeals to those who are a little bit strange and/or are of a certain age, does it appeal to those in their 30's? Has the Morgan customer base got older? Is Morgan doing enough to attract the younger buyers?

Perhaps we should confess out ages on here and find out, see other thread which I am just about to set up.

Personally, I can remember talking to my dealer back in 1993/4 who was saying that the Morgan factory was in trouble and likely to stop building cars in the near future and almost 20 years on its still there and producing cars and will probably be doing the same in the next 20 years.

Oh yes and before anyone puts me into one of a certain age or a little bit strange, when I picked up my car in 1997 I was the youngest buyer in that year to date.

Apparently staff are being asked to take an extra two weeks holiday, one either side of Christmas. They will have to make the time up in the new year when demand, hopefully, improves.
