Great run out yesterday to Orchardleigh House near Froome for my son’s wedding, followed by a visit to the QS Car Club at Eastwood Park. I arrived very late as I only heard about it in the morning, but there was a fantastic stream of super cars leaving as I motored up the drive - Ferraris, Lambos, Maseratis, and a Noble or two in front of the house.
The MOG attracted some attention from Dan the organiser who had been up at the factory last Wednesday. The next event at Eastwood Park is on 14.8.22.
I plan to get there early next time.

Fine aimless drive out (started with a 5 mile trip to town to fill my tank as I've been doing my shakedown runs on the fuel I had left over courtesy of crashing on the first day of my last race weekend ... 'every cloud', as they say 🙂) .... then just followed my nose ... lovely day here today ... can't think there'll be many days I can happily drive about behind aeroscreens in a T-shirt!! 😁

That's just my kind of trip out just for the sheer fun of it, sounds like you got it all right with the rebuild K thumbs

I took pity on Hawki of this parish who is a CX owner. Here is the woke warning so don't read further if you are a snowflake.

Hawki was so bored & depressed sans Morgan he has decided to turn to work. This seems to be very addictive and signs are getting up early and being in a home office 5 days a week. So today Belle & I conveyed him to Manningtree in the sun to see the Stour estuary (as in the Hay Wain & Constable Country) and some bikes.
I would urge all of us trad owners to help those with CXs from going mad & turning to work by giving them rides.

I saw your Morgan parked up there, John, as I went past.... I couldn't see you, and anyway was collecting my elderly mum, otherwise I would have stopped for a natter. Belle was looking good in the sunshine

A short ride to do some food shopping. I've got a squeak that seems to be coming from the right front. Not effected by braking or RPM, so it must be the wheel. I'll have to pull it apart and see what's going on.

I did 1,000 miles + last weekend with no issues. 1 mile to the store and I have issues. I guess it's better now.

About 75 miles today on a scorcher of a South Florida sunny summer day. It was 95℉ with 98% humidity, and the only clouds were off in the distance. I think the old saw needs to have Morgan drivers added to the list that includes mad dogs and Englishmen. The 11am departure was prompted by the threat of torrential rain starting at 2pm. Perhaps an evening trip next time! The trip to my first stop was uneventful. I met with a fellow I've been corresponding with who has a peach of a '67 drophead. I was looking at the Morganville registry and noticed he was fairly close by, so I reached out via email. Finally met in person today. Stop no. 2 was 2-3 miles away, and I noticed I'd suddenly developed a misfire and loss of power above 3000 RPM. Stop 2 was at the house of a close friend of mine that has been anxious to see the Moggie in person. During the requisite bonnet-opening ceremony, lo and behold! The cover of the PCV valve on my TR-4A engine had fallen off somewhere between stop 1 and 2. Fortunately, I was able to rig a get-home patch with some thin aluminum sheet and a little duct tape.

I reckon that it's all part of the shakedown process. The trip home was OK, but I drove gingerly to avoid disturbing the field expedient fix. A quick stop at the Moss Motors website, and a new PCV valve is enroute.

K, I had looked at the weather forecast for your part of the world following my run round the Trossachs in the sun, and on seeing a warm clear day was heading your way, I guessed you might be enjoying an extended shake-down run... if it is not too cheeky, I would be interested to know what your hopes and ambitions might be relative to the returns your Morgan may provide, given the obvious investment you put into it in many ways..and if those few miles covered have revealed anything different from that which you might have expected...?

Check tightness of the wing stay where it bolts to underside of the top of the wing. If slightly loose it can produce an annoying squeak such as you describe.
