Hang on, seventeen quid?

I use a free program on the Mac: QREncoder

There are many available online, but some want you to sign up or run links via their service.
QR Code Generator looks pretty straightforward if you don't select any of the extras.

That's a good idea, I will build one for the Coupe as it does get a lot of attention.

Please make certain you are all careful and do not open any dodgy QR Codes. They can be used like scams phishing emails. Once again IT has managed to wreck the English language and they are called quishing.

https://www.securemac.com/news/qr-code-phishing-and-how-to-avoid-it

Example

You return back to your car and find a parking ticket. It offers "£80 reduced to £20 if you pay within 4 hours of issue with a QR code. You scan the code, it takes you to payment site. You enter your credit card and it tells you paid.
Not only do they have £20 but they have all your bank details. Please do not assume a QR code is any safer than an email. If you get one via text or email without any forward identity then they are an equal risk to spam.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Another thing to watch is QRs in public places ... things such as gig/theatre posters and public info boards .... they have QR codes on them but scammers make self-adhesice stckers of their own QRs that they go round sticking over them ... may take you to dodgy sites or phishing scams instead of the box-office to buy those must-have Justin Beiber concert tickets or info on some 16thC battle site !! 😁

I have a t shirt with a qr code I made up on it and the made it 3D with shadows so that it could not be scanned, I just liked it as a modern image, quite amusing watching people's frustration when they can't read it, it was the address of my user profile on another forum if you wondered what it was.

I can't be arsed with these QR codes - if they don't have a proper website they can keep whatever it is they are peddling ! Like Twatter and Histagram full of crap and egos can't be bothered with it.

With Facebook I culled my "friends" from about 700 to around 68 two Chriistmases ago - my criteria was that if they had not communicated properly (excluding forwards) during the last year in Room 101 they went.
I posted to this effect so it wasn't a total surprise to them and it's been a really worthwhile thing to do, no more meal tables, bottles of wine or pints, just news or greetings.

Alistair has managed to ensure I never bother with them (QR) either laugh2

A QR code is just a link to a website. Saves typing a full address into a device, quick scan and you're there. No more or less dangerous than typing in a web address. The parking ticket scam would work equally well without the QR code and just a URL.
