Richard, just a thought have you got the springs the right way round? ie north to south. I seem to remember one end is slightly longer.
David Byrne The axle would be displaced significantly with the springs the wrong way round David.

Hi Paul, Unfortunately Morgan’s do tend to be a little asymmetrical but it looks like you might have lost some extension or droop travel on one side. Did you install 4 seater springs? I think if it was mine the first thing I would do is check to see the current state of the dampers and see if they were long enough on full extension (by removing the damper top fixings, jacking the car on the rear cross member so that the axle sits on the rubber drop stops and then check that the dampers actually have enough reach to be reassembled) as the stops should limit the movement not the dampers. Then if they were long enough and if they had some spare reach I would consider reducing the thickness of the drop stops (make some thinner ones) to gain back some extension travel. Good luck!

Thank you Richard for putting the Photo’s on. I have now learnt to do it properly. Dave B, its Abbo (me who has the Problem) not Richard LOL. I went with Dave W’s, The leaves get less towards the rear so the pin is closer to the front. They wont fit the wrong way because the pin wont meet the axle! I measured, marked and double checked etc. before installing certainly, moved the axle rearward and centred the wheels some. Scratching my head here a little and no it isnt a hybrid Morgan! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/07/25/rear-list-2.jpg)

Rog, et all I had done all that damper stuff, lifted via the rear so the axle rested on the stops no dampers attached. When its back on the wheels, no dampers attached, one side of the axle does still rest on the bump stop (I’m calling them that) and the other is not. I attached a pic to last post showing the list. Springs were sourced from MulFab about three weeks ago however were Roadster specific not MS0004 that Dave W fitted. Although I can’t see that being the issue, as whether they are 4Str or not I would have thought the car should be level. I put a level on the axle hoop (floor was level) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/07/25/Axle-hoop-level-not.jpg)

I neglected to ask, as we have pinged back and forth, should the axle rest on the bump stop at all, full weight of car at rest, everything attached?

I neglected to ask, as we have pinged back and forth, should the axle rest on the bump stop at all, full weight of car at rest, everything attached? As TBM said in an earlier thread, with front wheels off the ground there should be a small gap of about 10-15 mm from the bump stops. I received similar advice from Peter Ballard.

As a matter of interest, what does it look like with you sitting in it ? assume it is RHD. Obviously as is, is not right. When “we” did mine on my 2011 4/4 we had to remove the lowering blocks (the car is not a sport, it has a spare tyre) AND thin down the bump stops on the chassis. Easy to do on mine as they are in 2 parts. Sometimes the car can settle a little lopsided, especially if a big bloke has just driven it,but not as much as yours. Generally she is straight.

I attach a pic of the N/S U bolt on my car and Dave W's they look similarly positioned. mine Daves ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/07/25/Dave-W-U-bolt.jpg) would you recommend I give it a whirl with the rear shackles loosened?

Deejay, I am 74 Kilos, approx. 12.4 stone TBH it seems to make no difference. I am sure I would have noticed this, if it had been this way with the previous springs. I have 3 weeks to sort it till I am off on hols in her. Yorkshire beckons (although it drives ok).
