I picked up my car new from the factory in a January planned an epic journey north through the Lake District and beyond. Within minutes from Malvern never saw a clear dial until 500 miles later in the garage. Presumed it was a fault, but no they all do this to varying degrees, my latest car lasts a bit longer before misting up but gets there in the end. I think the mist looks better on white faced dials rather than black. There were a few solutions suggested, one was the hairdryer to heat up the dial and purge out the damp air, another was accessing the dials behind the dashboard to squirt in canned air to replace the moist stuff. I was out in my car yesterday and in about 10 deg the mist was back after 5 miles.

I like Steve Villatoro's comment, albeit he made it about the M3W. "It is all part of the charm that can never be replicated by perfection"

Put your lights on - that will get rid of it.

I have heard of the "red mist" but a pink fog must be the girlie version Seriously if the mist is pink it can not be normal condensation of humid air inside the instrument. Perhaps it is caused by some lubricating oil or other fluid escaping inside the instrument. That would definitely be a fault.
