1854, if your experience is anything like mine, you will find that basic errands need to be split into separate trips with the vendors located in generally opposite directions. If asked, you'll need to work on your responses, much like the interview response lesson Kevin Costner taught Tim Robbins in Bull Durham: "I'm just building some familiarization miles," "I'm trying to make sure the car is reliable when we take for a longer trip, dear," and the evergreen "It would age faster if I just let it rot in the garage."
Know them and cycle them carefully, so as to avoid being called out for egregious repetition, and for Pete's sake, stick to it, man! Many of our fates rest upon your ability to pick this up quickly.

Went to Carlisle yesterday via the back roads. At one point I was held up by an Artic who seemed unable to reverse into a field. While I was watching him do exactly the same manoeuvre and fail about 8 times, a cyclist pulled up beside me for a natter. Turns out he was an old school mate of Charles Morgan....

A planned quiet pub lunch at the Crown, Burston just north of Diss for Leo and myself was ruined by roadworks. Four way temporary lights on main route through Diss had the whole town rammed. Revised plan, and when we finally escaped 30 minutes later headed south to the Four Horsehoes at Thornham Magna. Some compensation was the quick service, and Leo got another walk cooling off in a shallow ford on the way back to car. Chatted briefly to a couple of guys in pub car park on a photo shoot with latest revision of 2 litre supercharged Ariel Atom. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/gkofsul.jpeg) An indignant looking slightly soggy Leo. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/ZHJ2qiU.jpeg) Cross country route home thankfully without issue.
