Looks great Ian thumbs and thanks for the link to the Morgan decals. I fitted one new caliper so have a Morgan/Caparo imbalance that requires fixing for my OCD.🤣

Looks good but did you not leave a hole so you can check the oil without removing the cover.

No - I didn't - but its just 4 domed nuts to undo and it sits so far above the engine it would be practically impossible to reach in to get to the dipstick. I did consider it though,

Just noticed your exhaust manifold ... instead of being three separate flanges it has a joining/reinforcing strip .... presumably a way of heading off the tendency for the siamesed middle flange to leak.?

I think the covers for the GDI engine are about stopping water coming in through the louvres pooling in the castings on top of the engine ... though I may be wrong !🙂

Yes, GDI and the earlier Duratec twin cam engines suffer from corroded sparking plugs. The plugs sit vertically in almost 6 inch deep holes situated in the centre line of the engine, Hence the covers. I have often wondered though how other things like plug leads might be affected by the extra heat retention.

I haven't had the car long enough to have learned about the header leaking issues. Still searching for the previous owner who did the modifications...

Yes, it was like that when I got the car. Not sure why, because it doesn't have a radio...
