Found this image of my car being built John. It shows that with the central part of transmission cover removed (not sure how easy but seat removal at least) you should be able to see grease nipples by looking into gearbox cover area above driveshaft. You can also see the wider gap between seat boards and how the handbrake cable is P clipped to edge of n/s board, out of the way. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/g0NuFO0.jpg)

Thanks Richard. Food for thought. A hole in the gearbox tunnel on the drivers side. And whilst you're at it maybe another further forward to access gearbox filler plug.

What are „UJs“?
Greets René The flexible joints on the propeller shaft that connect the gearbox to the rear axle, grease nipples at the front are hard to find.

Greets René Universal joint - Universalverbindung or maybe Kardangelenk Oh, great, thank you for the translation! And I see „DIY“ (or looking like that) serviceholes are British standard. At my classic MINI with an brakeservo fitted it was difficult to change the brakehoses. So I cut a hole in the rightside „innerwing“. In the left innerwing there is a hole, in cause there is the radiator. I think the HONDA-engineers at ROVER from the 90ies on haven‘t realized that you can‘t reach the hoses from the top with the servo in the way. Greets René

UJ = Universal Joint. UJ`s = more than one universal joint. Nope! UJ's = belonging to a Universal Joint. UJs = more than one Universal Joint. UJs' = belonging to more than one Universal Joint.

On the Triumph TR4A and TR6 you had no access to lubricate the outer UJs at the rear. They didn't seem to suffer too much although i did drill the bottom rear wishbones to allow access with a grease gun.

On a friend's PLUS 4 we made a hole drilling 4 10mm holes and using with care a small hand saw without any problem. But be carefull.
