Given the way the economy is due to many things anyone in the role is going to be 90% patsy and 10% furry. I bet Boris will look back in six months and say "glad it's not me".
We could run a pole.
She lasts six months. She resigns. This forces a general election Labour/Starmer gets in (I win my bet with the bookies) Due to the general mess and lack of experience they gaff it <3 years another general election Screaming Lord Farage gets in following a stream of right wing wins around Europe following Italy. Farage resigns and the party puts Trump in power. Everything turns out right in the end as we all start wearing MGBGA hats. (turns out they are sourced in China and arrive in the Russian colours)
Must check my meds are right.....

Apparently the favoured term for her in the city is Liz 'Daggers' Truss, since Dagenham is two stops past Barking...
That is brilliant Agreed I love it. She blames Kwasi who blames some junior minister. Neither have the guts to accept the fault is theirs. Leadership is about owning up if you or your team screw up on your watch. They are all like weather forecasters, lots of money with no responsibility whatsoever, they don't inhabit my world or yours.

I thought meteorologists were sensible people? At least they are more accurate than that fellow Kevin banging on about EE being the best network - he should try making a mobile phone call around here

I thought meteorologists were sensible people? At least they are more accurate than that fellow Kevin banging on about EE being the best network - he should try making a mobile phone call around here I was refering to all the smiley local tv forecasters that promise the earth and so often proven wrong, the added difficulty for them down here being we live on a very narrow peninsula really. We ask our farming friends if we want some accuracy they always get it right. Same here with the mobiles that bloke couldn't be more annoying if he tried, so the advert is working well. The latest tree hugging hobby down here is setting fire to any 5G installations which will help the environment out no end

Careful Graham, I saw one mini-documentary where they were using this new 5G stuff to perform a remote shave. You might be at risk if that's what happens when they install it in your area.

We ask our farming friends if we want some accuracy When we moved to the New Forest in 1985, the house we bought was owned by a TV weather forecaster, who also worked at the Met Office. Outside the back door he had hung-up a piece of seaweed and a pine-cone, "just to be sure" I guess.

Or confirmation following the slightly glitchy installation of the EMRWF mainframe in Reading . I seem to remember a few days when brown outs (technically insufficient power) resulted in last minute guess work being applied.

I don't know why you are so mean to weather forecasts men and women. I find they can be lovely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJGC6Oar-ucIn fact, I usually don't pay much attention to what they say. I don't know why... Viva México!
