I finished the service this morning, after a brake and clutch fluid change yesterday. This was last changed two years ago.

Some observations: I fitted an insulated cylinder around my clutch master cylinder way back, but after two years the fluid had turned a honey colour. The clutch fluid which bled through was badly discoloured this time. I don't remember it being like that previously. Anyway, I put plenty of new fluid through, but even so it still came out slightly murky.

The brake fluid was also different. Usually from the front it's quite clear anyway. This time with the recent caliper upgrade the fluid came out almost like new. At the rear, whereas usually it comes out grey, with the new rear cylinders fitted a couple of years ago, the fluid was surprisingly clear. I took the drums off, checked the wheel cylinders, which were in good shape, and I smeared some brake grease under the dust covers. A quick clean to remove brake dust and it all went back together.

I cleaned the insides of the wheels before replacing, and checked around for any damage. All was well.

This morning I rubbed down the exhausts, finished cleaning the wheels, did a quick job on the bodywork, first with Quick Detailer, then with Quick Polish, both Meguiars. I gave the interior a work over with leather cleaner & conditioner, and vacuumed out the white bits.

Here is the clutch fluid extracted from the master cylinder: It's important to suck the fluid out of the master cylinders before bleeding, because it saves having to push all the old fluid through the system first.

This is what came out of the clutch bleed nipple:

From the rear brakes:

And so the the sump.

The original (modified) clearance was 830mm
Now with the reduced depth sump and engine mounting spacers it is 1006mm, so a useful benefit.

Plus 4 clearance under the protruding bellhousing is 1102mm, and under crossmember skid plate is 1001mm.

All done! thumbs

+1. I do love red/black/shiny cars, yours takes me back to the TVR that I sold before buying my Roadster.

Thanks both! I think shiny red beats any other shiny colour.............black comes close but not metallic black which takes too much looking after.
