Is there a tool to grab the round knob on the side brackets of a folding windscreen?
I would like to fold it down for winter storage, but the round knobs aren't moving. I see holes drilled in the outer rim. I'm assuming for some kind of tool.
I wrapped them in rubber so as not to scratch them up, but they're not budging.

Also: does the screw in the center have anything to do with it, or does it just hold the knob to the shaft?

Ideally you need the 'Morgan Tommy Bar' - available at all good Morgan suppliers, but any lever/bar inserted in the holes would suffice - screwdriver, allen key etc....

The centre screw holds the knobs on as you suggest.

If this is the same as the side screen knob, Cain at Wolf Performance markets the “Claw” in his tools section for £23, especially designed for the job.

Mine had a tommy bar as it's keyring so it's always to hand .... an old scrap screwdriver with the right shaft diameter and the end cut off will do to put into the hole for leverage ... also the blunt end of a drill of the right diameter (but wear sturdy gloves to protect from cuts... or breakages if you're really strong)

Sometimes gently flexing the screen as you turn will loosen things up ... a thin smear of grease on the shoulder that locates in the screen bracket will help for next time.

Same Tommy bar as the side screens. Sounds like some penetrating oil overnight might help.

My mechanism has the Tommy bar holes, too. Amazing how tight these knurled knobs can become.

Perhaps wear a thick rubber glove (or two) and give it a twist (works with stuck fishing rod joints). If not then yes, Tommy bar substitute + maybe the penetrating oil.

Then once lose add grease or copperslip to the threads
