My first car was a Reliant 3/25 van (600cc as opposed to later 700cc vehicles).

[Linked Image]

It was transport. Just. Cheap road tax, cheap insurance (£27 TPFT IIRC).

Snow covered roads were interesting as the front wheel ran in the middle of the deep snow left by 4 wheeled vehicles. The throttle linkage was rod based and crossed the chassis just behind the front wheel. 20 minutes cruising was enough to freeze the throttle partially open.

Adverse camber bends were interesting at speed - the front wheel would go light as well as the inside rear wheel.

Bought it for £99 in 1976, ran it for 18 months and sold it for £100. Very relieved to see it go.

I know but the thought of Del & Roony putt putting across the set photobombing the film just made me laugh. Sorry.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Alistair ... just commenting .... I like puns as much as the next guy ... feel free to exercise your creativity to your heart's content 😁 ... not like it's a sensible thread in the first place 👍
