Here comes an EV like I have always dreamed of. Without exaggeration, I would like to say that this company will revolutionise EVs. Charging to 80% in under 5 minutes. No heat development during current consumption and power output, macimal 35 degrees without water cooling. An innovative charging network that is waiting in the wings. A cool design, acceptable weight of 1.8 tons and a long range. These guys do everything differently. They have 20 of the most highly-charged engineers in the team, including the developer of 30 years of BMW M vehicles. It's amazing how little this company and this car have been noticed so far. It will be on the road in 2024.Yes, he is Piech's son but he had nothing to do with cars professionally until 5 years ago. https://youtu.be/63LNmpqptcYBelow very detailed but in German. Funnily only a few thousands habe seen it so far. https://youtu.be/YdjUeZCHKnUAnd for reading: https://www.hotcars.com/everything-we-know-about-the-electric-piech-gt/

Looks interesting and great to see some improvements in battery technology starting to permeate through.

Nice looking car but thin on technical detail of batteries. Also the word "hope" is used when describing the projected performance. Would be interesting to see the road tests as and when.

They intend to launch in 2024, so they say… I'm not up to date, the film in German is a year old but I just happened to see it now. The state of affairs was that they were still looking for a production partner. That's one risk. I see this car and its team from two sides. On the one hand, it is "in itself" an attractive and beautiful vehicle. But on the other hand, they will not be able to close the doors to this battery innovation to others. I imagine it would be difficult to bind the battery developer completely and forever. Certainly, the battery company will be constantly besieged with negotiations by Tesla, Mercedes, VW, Toyota and others. The situation will be similar with this electricity grid and charging station developer. I just saw that they have a website, also in English. www.piech.com/

That's a beautiful looking car, but I bet the price tag won't be as attractive.

Interesting link Heinz... Ever the sceptic, it seems just too good to be true, causing me to remember that which my mother used to preach to me about things that seem to be too good to be true... But then as a self admitted selective Luddite, I can accept an EV as transport but in terms of a fun machine, if it does not have an ICE, I`m out.

It's encouraging that the improving battery technology and fundamental car design has enabled them to produce a 2 door coupe with a meaningful range whilst keeping the wheelbase to an appropriate length.
I was starting to think that EV's would only really work either in lower range city cars or long wheel base vehicles which would preclude the possibility of a 2 door coupe.

Thanks for the links Heinz that is a very interesting car technologically with lots of nice design work gone in.
Other than the Polestar it's the only other EV I have liked the look of, I shall look forward to it being produced.
I'm sure it will be way beyond my pensioners pocket but I can see it selling well in Europe.
