My boot liner is held in place by a number of self tapping screws straight into the wood. This setup isn't ideal as it's so difficult to line up the screw holes. I would like to put some wood anchors in and use knurled screws so they can be screwed in place by hand. Can somebody point me in the right direction regards sizes of anchors and screws please?

My 2013 car has thread inserts for maybe 4mm socket head button screws though some of the inserts have broken free so I suppose I need to replace with larger ones. https://shop4fasteners.co.uk/fasteners/threaded-inserts.html

From the Alternative Parts List: Boot liner tray knurled thumb screws (qty9) M5 x 16mm. Multiple options available on eBay. Use these in conjunction with something like M5 THREADED NUTS.

You can also get very similar inserts that are made of brass. Less inclined to corrode and gall up than steel.
