Did they really make a 4/4 with the Ford 1.8 engine circa 2011. I’d have thought it would be a 1.6. Too early for Mazda box too I assume.
Spotted an in an ad, may be a typo?

The 1.8 Duratec was used up to early 2008 and changed to the 1.6 Sigma for the 4/4 Sport. Not sure about the Mazda box, thought it was around 2010/11.

In 2011, only the 1.6 litre Sigma was installed in the normal 4/4. But in 2011 there was also the 75s anniversary 4/4 with the 2 litre Duratec engine. I'm not sure if this model already had a Mazda gearbox? The 2012 Plus 4 Super Sport had a Mazda gearbox, perhaps the earliest Mog with the Mazda box? DaveW could answer this Q.

My 2011 Plus 4 had a Mazda box. Best gearbox I have ever had.

is there and easy way to distinguish the Mazda box from the ford. having owned (and still do own) several MX5s I agree the gearbox is usually delightful.

On mine, if I open the bonnet on the driver’s side and with a torch, peer down and back into the gearbox tunnel, to where the gear box is bolted to the back of the bell housing. There on the gear box casting, at an angle of about 45 degrees to the horizontal is a stick on label showing N7S together with a serial number and bar code. N7S is the Mazda designation.
