I might be mistaken but I think that the Maza gearbox has two raised rings around its circumference.

My 2011 car has a Mazda box, a different league to the old ford type 9. I also have the MX5 2.0 litre engine, basically a duratec but on chains rather than cambelt, as per the +4 Supersport, gem of a set up.
