I bet a few of us would be happy if this appeared under the tree. Guilty pleasures?

Just not sure about the air scoops on the bonnet
But it looks like they're original....

While the Capri wheels are a nice design in their own right they make the Capri look customised, whereas my preferance is for a more original appearance
I helped a pal restore a rather rare Capri 3100 RS which turned out rather nicely... he was a stickler for originality with that car.

I agree re the wheels, for me they make it look a bit custom car. Some of the other photos show it on more traditional wheels which I quite like. Would love to see photos of the 3100RS, they were great.

Alistair, When the Capri arrived on scene it was a stunner indeed, but my interest at the time was m/cycles, and when a car became a rather obvious progression, I was only really interested in sports cars, but around 76 I did own a black vinyl roofed 1600 Capri XL of that era for a while, though sold that when I finished my Land Rover build.

I nailed a few old cars together for my use over many years to save paying a premium to own something out of the ordinary. My pal is far more skilled than I, and rebuilds his cars to factory spec and if not that, then better than factory, but his tastes have changed as he ages, I fear he has watched far too many of those US custom guys on YT as he has moved away from his priorities on originality once applied to his Capri and Stag interests, and we built a Stag with an LS3 Engine and box, GT3 front brakes coil over suspension, BMW axle and modified rear subframe with Jaguar rear brakes.... Currently he is into building a 60`s (?) F100 with a Coyote engine and box, I helped him convert the dash from LHD to RHD but Covid got in the way a few years back and complexities set in thus I have not been as involved as I was in the past, he has been at this one for quite a few years now.

The 3100 RS was almost identical to the one in the link, though the door fit was much better on the one we rebuilt...(-:
