With Dave W on this, I really like it and know that it would be a hoot to drive, black upholstery no good out here but at that price compared to a CX wow. OK. I give up. Why is black upholstery no good in New Zealand? Sir P

Horses for courses.
V8 and sidepipes makes the Aero way more enjoyable than a CX to me. Never said better.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Re the upholstery -in a normal summer (not this one) you would get fried sitting in it after being parked outside while you were having your "coffee".

Lovely car!  But any talk of it being better than the Plus Six is misguided IMHO. The CX platform is in a different league to the old ali chassis on that car and I wouldn't buy it on those grounds. There really is no comparison between the handling of the two cars and everything else is basically what you want it to look like Agree it’s a lovely car! However, I don’t agree that the CX chassis is in a different league to the Plus 8 chassis. Maybe improved and somewhat stiffer, but the Aero-chassis was designed by Chris Lawrence and was “one of the stiffest chassis of all the convertible roadsters” for quite some years And it has been amended over the years of production. Many enthusiasts prefer the Series I chassis as being the purest to the original design.  As regards a V8 versus a turboed BMW engine and if it has had the Litchfield ECU programme developed for the Morgan GTR it makes an enormous difference to the performance and works well with the auto gearbox, I’ll take the V8 any day! Luckily, we all have our own ideas of what is the ideal Morgan and imho that’s down to personal choice rather than mine’s better than yours…
