I have a "big, safe Lexus" for running my grandchildren around in - but they also go in the Morgans on the odd occasion and absolutely love it, so the Morgans won't be going anywhere soon.

Also related to Tomhez' post above, we took the P6 out in the rain yesterday and when we returned to the car after breakfast it was electrically dead and would not start. A quick call to Morgan London and we were told that this is a common occurrence in heavy rain and the fix is very simple - remove a battery lead (always carry a 13mm spanner), count to 10 and reconnect. We did this and the electrics came to life immediately and the car started as normal, with no more problems on the journey home.
Not much of a drama really and now we know about it it is not an issue.
Might be worth giving it a try Tomhez?

screwdriver damage to the steering wheel centre.

730 mile car, never been out in the rain. £72500

Dealer emailed and telephoned from 1.20pm yesterday, no reply to emails or calls

And now has a complete electrical shutdown.

Had missing items when i collected our M3W from Morgan Works in 2021 and was given some tosh that the missing items (that they charge £350) for were not that good anyway.

On the upside our first grandchild was born yesterday morning so maybe time to get shot of these pieces of junk and buy a big safe Lexus.

I hope you get all that sorted very soon Tomhez. That sort of dealer experience is not one you expect to have. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you Barry M, that sorted that out at least. It came off the trailer into garage and that was it, no rain. Another for the list
"They all do that Sir" !

If only they did not look so good.

A common occurrence....but is it acceptable? Taking off battery leads in heavy rain?
Haven't had that sort of issue on a car since the original mini in 1969

I believe it is to reset the computer so a 69 Mini is not going to suffer the same issue.

It has never happened before and it was filthy weather so acceptable to me but others may not agree.

If I was worried about that sort of thing, I don't think I would have bought a Morgan, although there are problems with most new cars these days.

Morning Barry, can I ask about your Plus Six electrical failure. Was the car completely display dead, i.e. no LCD display, no lights etc, or was it the case that the display/lights etc showed normal but the car would not start on the starter button. ie. The starter button did nothing.?. The reason I ask is that our Plus Six had an intermittant issue with the starter button behaving like it was dead but displays/lights were normal. After many attempts to solve the issue the fault now seems to have been recitified by the dealer/MMC, apparently the factory had seen the problem before on the early Plus Six cars and the issue was the vehicle earths. Just about every earth poiint on our car was reworked including the earths under the dash.

Well if i can post an image anyone can.

Update on the P4 delivered on Saturday.

To his credit, i received emails on Sunday afternoon despite the dealership having closed on Saturday for the weekend.

An offer to collect the car and return it back to me was made, two x nine hour round trips! Given that offer i am happy to accept the missing items through the post and re ceramic coat or polish myself.

So we did get a run out to the west somerset coast after all.

Well, having had absolutely no interest in 4 wheel Morgans, i now wonder how much the m3w will get out and how will i wrestle the keys to the P4 from my wife.

Its a different fun than the m3w. Sure if you want to feel like a WW1 fighter pilot whilst driving within the speed limit then its the m3w every time but i have been drawn to the dark side.

Not much of a drive yesterday beyond pulling her out of the garage and had her washed. Thought you might like some pictures.

Big drive planned for next Monday though. London up to the Dales by way of Caffeine & Machine, possibly Malvern, and the Peaks.

Anyone interested in coffee or breakfast at either of the first two stops?
