I replaced my wiper blades for new from Melvyn Rutter Ltd. Two * 7" and one * 6" Will test out this weekend. Previous originals were struggling.

I got the first leaf spring back in today. Compared to what saw online I put the U-bolts on first, though I left them a little loose for now. Then I attached the fronts. Finally the rear with 2 helpers. I rigged up a strap around the end of the springs and a board as a lever. Then had one helper stand on it to pull the leaf springs down adjusting the link as it came down to avoid the wires. I had 2 washers between the link and the body, so I glued them together. I held them in place while the other helper worked the bolt in. Hopefully I can get the other side together tomorrow. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/03/18/PXL_20230317_220136587.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/03/18/PXL_20230317_220125405.MP.jpeg)

Well done that seems a clever way to get there.

This worked out very well, and should work as well for the other side.

Just loaded her up for the trip down to Cranfield for the new hood. Got a definite 'and what do you think you're doing with my car!' from the Petrolhead Cat 😄 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/03/19/20230318_155827.jpeg) K

Due to drop it off at opening time on Wednesday ... from here that means heading off tomorrow to get part way. If I make really good time I might try and get them to let me drop it off Tuesday before closing ... worth a try.

Thanks! I'd like to say it was easy, but it was far from it. I think the order is the key. And getting the nuts on the U-bolts is good to do while there is still plenty of room. Finish tightening them when everything else is complete.
One question I have, I've read that I should torque the U-bolts nuts to 30 ft lbs. I only have a conventional torque wrench that I would normally put a socket on, but that won't fit between the chassis and the springs. Any suggestions?
