My 450bhp 'milk float' has had zero issues in 30,000 miles - unlike my Morgan (and many others on here) that always have 'something'. As always, it is non owners that have most to say on this subject. Agreed. I've been in one. I was immensely impressed by the acceleration and thought all the gimicky stuff was amusing for a short time, but then it was just like every other expensive soul-less germanic motorway cruiser. Not for me. Much prefer my old Mog, but then this is a Morgan forum so you'd kind of expect that.

My brother bought one of those retro-modern Hyundai Ioniq 5 things, supposed to be a supremely talented all-electric family car that’s hard to fault, which is an absolute joke !
He’s had a petrol courtesy car more times than the Ioniq 5. It runs out of steam, doesn’t reach full charge, brakes on its own. Can’t remember the rest.

Today it has been announced Jaguar is closing 75 percent of all its dealers in the U.S. The 187 dealers are being reduced to 50! Other than possible old ICE repair the left over dealers are waiting for the all electric car to compete against Bentley. Individuality is getting less and less.

Yep. Unfortunately regulations for motor vehicles means that unless you're a small manufacturer (like Morgan) every car ends up looking very similar. Bonnets have to be a certain height etc etc. It means that even the latest Ferrari looks like a Kia in order to comply. EV's, (which need to be more slippery than most in shape) are the worst offenders. Characterless blobs most of them. I've got used to my Tesla, quite like it actually - but it's a fathers love! My Morgan feels like an antique in comparison - which is, of course, its charm. The fact that it doesn't look like anything else is another bonus.

My irritation about some of the current EVs is the incredibly lazy exterior styling. So many seem to have just a large blob of plastic covering what was the radiator grille, of the petrol model that was used as the base, Fair play to Tesla for the ground up styling. Economically, it makes no sense for me to change to an EV. Now I’m retired, my 4 year old Mini 5 door has just 8k miles on the clock and is still like new. So the Mini and my Morgan are my ideal modes of transport. Susie, my partner (or tlLB to long time TMers) has a Panda Cross - absolutely perfect for narrow and potholed Devon lanes, local to us. Just had a work trip to Amsterdam. Taxi from Schipol was a large MB van. In town it moved off from traffic lights like… an EV! Very pokey in town. Will be interesting to watch how EV prices drop as battery tech improves over the next decade.

They will have to - just been for a test drive in an X1 mild hybrid 1.5 three cylinder petrol - very economical and does everything I need it to and that is what I will be ordering.
Fully intended to order the EV version, iX1 - identical in exterior (except bits of blue optional trim) and interior looks and same spec but costs £19k extra.

No range anxiety and go where you like without military planning + £19k in the bank it really is a no brainer. Wishing you many miles of fun and do let us know your living with it thoughts sometime.
