Porsche I believe have a processing plant in Chile and have used this fuel in race cars and in other pre-war rally cars without problems

The EU regulations will have something in them to try and only allow "E fuel" specific cars to be allowed to use "E fuels".

So there will be devices for sale on ebay to get round them.

There will be plenty Petrol and Diesel cars still around after 2035 and fuel stations to supply the conventional fuel. I cannot see a Europe wide network of "E Fuel" forecourts in small towns across Europe.

I'm not sure it will catch on in Australia or the US for some time to come.

I would assume ICE cars sold new before 2035 can till run on standard fuel and it would be available for a long time after 2035. I thought it was the sale of new ICE cars being banned in 2035 not the use of all existing ICE cars. I assumed Petrol will be available well past 2045 for existing cars.

More info here on eFuels https://www.hiftasmania.com.au/ that says they will produce 100million litres. I only use about 1000 to 1200 Litres a year so if I am a typical driver then there could be 100,000 drivers like me. However I also read the expected wholesale price to be $2.00 USD per litre, add profit and taxes it will be probably $5.00AUD or more. If so I expect most people with existing ICE cars will keep driving them on standard petrol if available. But HIF must have done market research to determine there is a viable market for their product.

The extensive planting of broad leaf trees and the curtailment of mass logging activities especially in the rain forests is far more critical than the elimination of ICE.

Apparently it seems air cooled Porsche owners have been advised by Porsche that E10 is not suitable for use in their cars..? Given the reported number of air cooled Porsches that are still recorded as in "use" and the values attributed to them, may well have prompted Porsche to look into the production of synthetic fuels..?

I note Harry thinks he is only likely to put 1K miles on his RR over the period of a year, much as I suspect I manage in my +8. I think my 2012/13 tin top sports car will manage on E10 without issue..fingers crossed, but for now just like my Morgan I run it on premium fuels and will continue to do so for as long as they are available.

It seems many owners of classics limit the mileage they cover in them to perhaps 3k miles /annum and arrange their insurance policies accordingly, whether that is to minimise running costs, or if value retention might be a consideration, I suspect either or both may play a part..? That perhaps being the case then it would seem the owners of "classic" machines would play very little part in warming the globe and thus perhaps it would seem reasonable for us to considered differently in any future legislation..? For those heavily invested in classics for whatever reason, might suffer considerably if amongst the increase of speed towards a greener agenda there was not some suggestion that classics might be considered differently ..?
