Your 2008 Roadster is probaly just a few cars away from my 2009 one. Mine has the factory spec 205-55-16 wire wheels/tyres combo. If you want the same visual appearance as on you Sport 4/4 (which had 165-80-15 according to your photo) with quite a lot of room in the wheel arches, you may want to consider a smaller wheel diameter or tyre profile, or possibly raise the front suspension a bit.

I have less room in my front arches than the 4/4 pictured, same size 165-80-15 tyres

Agreed, stick with the alloys, lighter, easier to keep clean, easier to balance, no spines to wear out, still a good range of tyres available...that's why I have them on the 3.7

I agree with you Richard, she looks very cool. However, the white circle on the door is a very clever touch. Maybe find a roadster on the net that looks exactly with black alloys like this one in black colour but without the white circle. Then you can see if it still looks as cool or if it might be a bit drab.
In no case would I take smaller tire sizes and if at all then only bigger and not smaller ones because of the low ground clearance of the Roadster at the oil pan. MMC changed from 205/60/15 to 205/65/15 with the introduction of the Roadster Sport in 2010.

Jon, which tyre size do you have, 205/65/15 or 205/60/15? Anyway it looks good in your avatar.

It's a bit late & I've sunk a few wine to go out in the garage tonight, but I'll check tomorrow Heinz

Not normally a fan of the black on black look but IMHO the back alloys do look good. Sounds like the consensus is also that the rise on the alloys is better too. Interesting comment from Heinz about the white circle though … maybe something to provide an accent against the all black aesthetic.
