After almost seven years of sterling service, the time arrived this past week to trade in my daily tin top. It's been a great wee car, quite fun to drive but, especially since I hit the big six zero at my last birthday and given my generally upstanding pillar of society, respectable type of status these days (or something like that to do with old farts anyway) it's a bit on the boy racer side so I reckoned what I really needed was a nice little Honda Civic to get me around in, do supermarket runs, for quiet days out in the countryside and so on.
After a bit of looking, I found an appropriate nice little red Civic and got it home this evening. It actually seems to be quite the fun thing to run about in, has an enormous boot for all the shopping and has the added bonus of having not one but two picnic tables on the back and some might say that it almost came with a personalised plate albeit slightly misspelled. laugh

Calum, now you can hurry to the special offers in the supermarket even faster as a 60+ year old😀.
It is very understandable to read that you leave the Fiesta ST to the young guys and that you now drive a reasonable little Japanese that is "downsized" to 330 hp👍👍🤠🤠🤠

The Irn Bru on the spoiler rofl

Now that is a photo!

Honda make an incredible engine and the Type R products have always been special; I'm sure you'll really enjoy the Civic!

I cannot recall the exact quote but I know Mr Honda had a lot of respect for Morgan and he was quoted somewhere saying something along the lines of in the future when all the large automotive companies have gobbled up all the smaller ones, only Honda and Morgan would remain independent.

I do like the Civic Type R. A lot of car for the money.

One caution though. My late lamented and much missed Father In Law bought a modest Civic as his last car. The Honda salesman tried to sell him a 2nd hand Type R as he had several in stock. At the time (2005 ish), they were getting a fair few 12 month old Type R's back on part-ex from people who had gone from 0-9points in less than a year.

As long as they are F1 points🙄 I would call it a success.
