Always worries them the Morgan smile - funny how you never see that on Porker or David Brown product drivers faces isn't it ?
?? Every one is smiling !  They all smile after they had a ride in the Morgan,parked next to the Porsche,just not visible on the photo  Rudolf

?? Every one is smiling ! I think the difference is everyone smiles when any Morgan is driven, that isn't the case for all Porkers or AM's though I would definitely smile driving either of the cars Ruud has posted

?? Every one is smiling ! I think the old ones do raise smiles all round, be it Porkers, Astons or whatever. The more recent models that could be described as "footballistique" perhaps less so. Certainly over here in France, flashy motors tend to bring out the latent inner marxist that lies within many french people. My old business partner Jeremy had a late model Merc SL that got vandalised 7 times in 2 years in the 7th arondissement (one of the nicest quartiers of Paris). He now has a V8 Vantage roadster, but he tends to leave it at his house in the boondocks as when he has been in Paris in it he's been sworn at, spat at and so on. My Mog has only produced friendly reactions.

I think with the present revolutionary approach to fat cats, it's probably not a good idea to leave a top notch car anywhere for long. Mind you, my Escort Ghia got vandalised in 1976.......  Not funny at the time though. My BGT was vandalised outside my mothers house in 1981, and when I bought my V8 somebody had (already) keyed every panel, and that was a twelve year old car at the time. That was 1986. So probably more of it around then.

A guy I worked with in 1990 had always wanted a Porche. He was smiling and feeling very proud of himself when he finally got one. He arrived at work one day and announced he had just had the car serviced. It had cost him AUD $1,600 (about 2 weeks of his income after tax) for a routine service, oil change, filters, plugs and tune. That is equivalent to $3,800 today. That took the smile off his face!

@ Peter, I found this on the AM forum ! ..These are very expensive cars to service. I just did a tune-up on one..plugs, coils, airfilters, fuel filter, and front brake pads only..parts alone 6k. Add the labor. Intake manifold must come off to service the sparkplugs. Intake gasket alone was 400 bucks. Nice car though..glad I don't own it.  Here are the Porsche service prices.
