Replaced my Roadster badge where the er had broken off. Easy to do but it took c 18 months as MMC couldn't supply a spare & I'm sure BHM were getting fed up of me harassing them. Lucky I found one on ebay.

Thursday night trip to the Devamog AGM in the 1968 Plus 4 showed up a couple of faults. Firstly the oil pressure guage was reading a tad too high for my liking at 100psi which caused a slight weep from the rocker box, the heater wasn't working and the fanbelt was screeching like a bastard.

Went down to the Ross on Wye jumble so when I got back I removed the oil pressure relief valve and gave it it a good clean out. Seems to have done the trick. Heater didn't work because the bullet connector had come apart. Replaced it with a more secure connector to keep my beloved happy.

Fan belt is screeching because the alternator is slightly out of line so will sort that out in the morning.

Made up a set of dummy centre pins and a datum rod to help me set the crosshead on the 1955 Plus 4 4 seat DHC as Richard Williams has done an excellent job on the bodyframe and has now sent it to Steve Barnes for panelling.

After a winter of work rebuilding the rear suspension, and swapping out the gear box for a 5 speed,
I started the engine. I had to pack the oil pump with Vaseline to get it to prime. I also got to try out the new 123 distributor with blue tooth. A lovely piece of kit, and adjusting the curve using my phone is very cool. I hope to have it back on the road this week

Finally got around to pulling out the aluminum footwell panels for replacement with plywood. Looking around under the scuttle, I think that I can see why I'm having such difficulty locating whoever did the previous work on the car. Some of the workmanship is so poor that I can understand why one would not want to admit it...

I feel your pain - my car was semi-restored by a Classic Car place some years before I purchased her. They'd obviously never worked in a Morgan before and hopefully haven't since. Everytime I start a job I have to undo much of their work......

What I'm talking about is just really sloppy work. Bent panels, loose or missing fasteners, holes that look like they have been chewed in the firewall, oily grit and metal shavings all over...

I've been to Steve Barnes' workshop a couple of times, very impressed with his workmanship, had a oh ah moment with a brand new Flatrad style radiator, (way out of my budget) work of art !
