Hi All,

Undertook a 350 mile round trip this week and a handful of problems have manifested. Most are in hand to be dealt with at the service on 3rd May (first service).

However, I just spotted this on the garage floor and the corrugated pipe cover half an hour ago. The substance feels and smell oily and is green in colour. Any wise one's out there who know what this may be? I am due to take it to a National Drive it Day event tomorrow and concerned whether this is a safety related leakage!

If it tastes 'sweet' it's coolant, little lick of the finger does the trick & won't kill you

I'd say coolant. If you taste it spit it out & have water to hand to rinse your mouth.
Check the jubilee clips are tight on the hoses & watch the coolant level

I did consider coolant as there have been so many problems reported with leaking radiators.

However, the drops were quite oily, almost like hydraulic fluid, as far as I recall (and I admit here it was a long time ago) cooling fluid, i.e. water and glycol mix, was never oily in consistency?

I called my dealer and emailed photographs and they suggested it was fluid from the zircon system, which I was little bemused about as aircon systems usually gas charged?

I did notice a single drop of similar on the garage floor under the front of the car last August after I had used the aircon.

I just took another look and the fluid in question is definitely leaking from the front offside. Bearing in mind what I say above about the consistency of the fluid, I do wonder whether it is power steering hydraulic fluid.

One thing's for sure, I am attending a national Drive it Day event this afternoon and do not intend to use the Morgan until In know it is safe to do so (the potentially leaky roof doesn't help either but that's another story!) . Never have I spent so much money on a car for it to prove to be so fragile and in some areas, of seriously dubious quality!

Sounds like the usual new radiator required fix. Oh FFS!

If you have A/C it may be a leak from the system. A/C fluid is normally green.

The power steering is electric so no fluid in the system, check the coolant level it should be just 50% full., Possibly fluid from the gearbox?
