If you go easy a hairdryer will normally do the trick, not to hot and a flowing motion, see YouTube for some videos. A lot of modern PPF's are self repairing so heat does the trick, if the scuff is actually material deposited (eg shoe sole) onto the film, then a light cutting agent that you would use on paint followed by some wax will often sort it
