I've had a frustrating morning trying to plan a trip to Wales with Mrs W. Previously we've arranged our routes around stop-offs at National Trust properties, far more civilised than roadside cafes or motorway services. However, every one I've looked at this morning has the food & drink option crossed out. I guess it's also a staffing issue. My local NT property still has a cafe but on my last visit, I found they had closed the shop.

The property closest to us (has a garage for their Racing Bentley) has Cafe and Shop open but could well be due to the retired demograph down here, several got their calculations wrong and are forced into returning.

Good luck with the planning and holiday.

A nice drive to Nawfolk to Snetterton to watch the FolkMog track day & drool over exotica like the McClaren. It was very cold but the rain held off. Nice to Simon Daunt's new Plus Six and meet up with lots of morgan friends.

Good luck Ian. I looked at NT jobs a month or so ago and a lot of NT properties in this area had openings for food/beverage staff. I applied for one at nearest NT (Chedworth). Even had an interview, but with 4 other applicants it went to someone else (no doubt with experience in the field or free to work lots of weekend days).

swmbo was having a soirée with some of the girls from our village so Leo and I decided to make ourselves scarce. A 90 mile round trip to the sand dunes and beach at Walberswick on the Suffolk east coast was planned and executed in fine weather.

Preparing for the journey home after discovering the fish and chip shop we had been pinning our lunch hopes on had burnt down two weeks before doh. Absolutely gutted - the building wasn't any better innocent
