Great pics Saxonian . You might prefer the Jensen but the Duesenberg will be worth more. Haynes motor museum have a model J which is the star of their American car collection.

I rearly like the shape/ line of the Düsenberg.
Every time I look in this thread I am a little bit envious about the meeting places you have for so much nice cars For example I have seen only once a XKR and that was in a dealers showroom

Duesenberg folded in '37 and that doesn't look like pre-war bodywork ... there was a re-float of the name in the late '70s I recall using modern running gear ... I'm guessing it's one of those. The early cars were mightily impressive with some real innovation and power outputs that would be at home today

Double overhead cam and 4 valves/cylinder in the late 20's! The model J gave 265 bhp from its 6.9 litre straight 8. Twice the power of the competition at the time. Dash adjustable max braking effort to suit road conditions was an innovation.

Is it my imagination, or does the Duesenberg have the doors and windscreen frame from an MG midget?

This Düsenberg seems to be one of the newer/ second Generation. I remember this window frame quite well. The first Morgan was ständig side by side with a Panther in the showroom at Morgan-Park. I was thinking about buying the Panther - until I had a closer look to both cars. There was less room in the Panther than in the 4/4!

Using mine for the commute at the moment while waiting for parts to undo yet another previous owner bodge on the MG. Weather is glorious, although a little miffed at the number of traffic light roadworks on my route in, which turned a 35 minute bimble into a 1h 10min drudge.....

Today was Kylescu down to Aboyne. Set off at 0900, arrived just after 1pm. A clear run down through Ullapool, then across to Inverness. A bit busier over the bridge, but soon quietened off. Then Timontoul, and the Grampian Ski Resort, dropping down into Dinnet. Really very quiet on the roads and you get used to being alone mile after mile. Had to smile at a few camper vans slogging over the ski resort road. Guys, they are not suitable for narrow twisting roads with severe gradients and hairpin bends. That route is like a bigger version of Applecross, and is amazing in a Morgan. Saw an Aero just outside Inverness. Pale metallic green. I sorta recognised it. S1 I think. Saw a black MG Midget in nice condition, and a Morris Minor convertible in Aboyne, but nothing else worth mentioning.
