We had a run out today to Hay on Wye intermittent rain all the way but we kept the top down. Had a lovely drive back but we did hit a crow at about 60mph Its moved the spoiler about a quarter of an inch no panel damage so an easy fix. Em

To conclude my three weeks north England and Scotland tour here a few last pictures from the last days (a week ago).
We ran through Spencer's home turf (Yorkshire Dales):
[Linked Image]

The we visited the Yorkshire Air Museum and had a nice talk with one of the volunteer guides there (he also liked my car color winky):
[Linked Image]

And then we had to enter the ferry back to the mainland again frown
[Linked Image]

Three weeks of a lot of great impressions and approximately 3700 miles door to door winky (coming from Franconia...).
And the Moggi did it all very well and without any technical hiccups or problems (except the "famous" luggage rack sick2). Even the brakes showed no problems after last year's recall and the radiator modification preserves since last October (now over 6800 driven miles, knock on wood...). Only the sometimes "interesting" road quality might have left some impression on the car. It has now on higher speed on the Autobahn a slight kind of vibration and I will need to check for unbalances...
The car size is perfect for Scotland and the small roads in northern England!

And compared to my Scotland trip 5 years ago with my Porsche Boxster the Moggi had a far better fuel consumption grin2.
The Porsche had around 22 mpg for a similar trip and the Moggi averaged on 36 mpg winky thumbs.
[Linked Image]

We had always a very friendly reception with the Morgan everywhere, although I did not see many other representatives of this special species confused2... I expected to see more Moggis on the roads...

And I found with the Lake District an interesting nice new driving territory thumbs. I hope to have a chance to visit this area again in the future.

All together three weeks of great weather with only one evening/night with some rain. So I summed up more than 2500 miles of top down driving on the island thumbs.
We saw a lot of great scenery, some already known from my last trip, but still a lot of great new impressions!

And finally some data on my luggage box and rack:
My dealer told me to limit the weight of any luggage on the rack to maximum 30 kg. The box and all content finally summed up to 19 kg (including fixing material). I now also know that the side screens with their bag will add up to 10 kg weight. Doing the math, this ends up on 29 kg load on the rack. The lower fixings were able to hold these 29kg only for approximately 1 to 1,5 hours...
There is for sure "room for improvement"...

Now I have to clean up my car for the next small tours to come this year. Hope to see also other proud owners here with some evidence from their tours in these great Moggis drive winky

Not my CX - But one I had the pleasure of driving last week for 4 days on a "Morgan Experience - Wales & Cotswolds Tour"

We travelled down to Malvern on Sunday 18th June, before picking up the CX Plus Four on Monday 19th. Spent Sunday night at Cottage in the Wood Hotel - we were not disappointed with our short stay.

Rather nice 1961? Morgan in the car park (owner had been to the Morgan gathering at the factory on Saturday 17th and had stayed overnight.

Had a "VIP" tour of the Morgan factory at 2pm On Monday 19th (Just me, wife and tour guide). Shook hands and spent 5 minutes chatting to Massimo and Thomas (sales director), who we ran across by the paint shop.
In the historic section I got lucky and was allowed to sit behind the wheel of an Aero (apologies for the bad photo, swmbo took it)

We then did the handover of our hire Plus 4. Not too different to my trad Morgan (2019) apart from
1) Start button
2) Handbrake position
3) Air-con
4) Sports+ button
5) 6 Speed gearbox

Although the drive was remarkably different - The independent suspension, compared to my leaf springs..... and to be perfectly honest - I missed that. The CX Morgan really sticks on the rails and is a very comfortable ride.
I also missed the rumble and run-on of my sports exhaust.

Our first hotel of the tour was the Feathers in Ledbury - We stayed in the Nell Gwynn Suite
[Linked Image]

It was raining when we set off on Tuesday morning, with a destination of Portmerion via Ludlow (coffee stop) and Palle Hall for lunch (gave lunch a miss and just had a coffee)

The sun started shining, so the roof came down and the sidescreens came off, and stayed that way for the rest of the week. (Apart from overngiht parking)

I was confused as to which of the 2 hotels at Portmerion we were booked into for the night - Either Hotel Portmeirion OR Castell Deudraeth.
No wonder I was confused - we were staying in neither! We were actually staying in the "Salutation Suite" - One of the houses within the village.

We had the upper floor of this yellow building

Wednesday morning saw us leaving Portmerion to Broadway in the Cotswolds, with a couple of coffee stops on the way, one of which was The Bear Inn in Hodenet, Market Drayton.

We were booked into the Lygon Arms Hotel

[Linked Image]

On booking in, we were told we had a free upgrade smile - to the "King Charles Suite"

That night we dined in "The Grill" - A James Martin Restaurant at the hotel.

On Thursday 22nd June we had a pleasant few hours tootling round the Cotswolds before handing the car back at Morgan Motors.
In the showroom there was a stunningly beautiful MY23 Plus Four that even swmbo said it was gorgeous and asked me about the price..... We decided to leave it in the showroom - £87,259.80p (maybe I could negotiate the 80p off it...?)
