Hi all, long time owner first time poster.
I was out enjoying the late summer heat in my plus 4 when the dreaded white smoke starts to rise from the grills. Upon inspection the rubber inlet that the coolant hose fits to had broken down and ripped in 2.
After a nice long journey in a low lowder my mog is back home but after removing the radiator i've noticed the frame is on the loger length part of the radiator. When looking for a replacement i'm finding it tricky to do so. The Engine is from a 2007 Mondeo.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Fit an aluminium replacement from Mulfab or similar. You won’t have any further problems.

Only Morgan specialists can supply a replacement radiator, because it's a bespoke item. Mulfab supply aluminium replacements for a DIY fit, or talk to your dealer.

Note given the increased cooling, the optional larger rad fan they offer won't be needed unless you intend using car in a particularly hot country. OE fan can just be swapped over.

On the subject of fans, when it was really hot the past couple of weeks the fan on my Roadster2 kicked-in on several occasions, made a pretty loud roaring sound -- do they "all do that Sir" or has it got a shot bearing ? Where might I find a lubrication point if any ?

If it's anything like mine was Peter the OE radiator employed fan ducting which seemed to amplify the noise. Note also you have a two speed fan controlled by separate relays. When high speed was triggered it did roar. With SiFab or Mulfab rad the OE fan is mounted directly to rad and runs substantially quieter.

SUPPLIERS

There are two well-known American suppliers of aluminum rads. Griffin (1) and Ron Davis Racing (2), both of which have supplied many other marques for many years, much longer than such things have been available to the UK market. And I have found that both American and British enthusiasts prefer, for some reason, to buy local as a first priority, over all other factors. The biggest US supplier, Morgan Spares sells RDRs.

I have bought from Mulfab (3) as well and they turned out the most effective and the cheapest at the time, even with shipping to Canada. However, I have not checked the new prices from Mulfab since Peter sold and no idea of the quality or service today.. The do us Peter's designs which incorporate his extensive experience. I have bungs for rad fan switches placed both top and bottom. I can then play with placement of the controlling switch to see which I like more and leave the other as a back up (I can merely change the wires or the feed.). Alternatively, there is an Australian mogger who came up with an inexpensive idea that allows one to tailor the fan function to each individual car. https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/EngineCoolingFanControl.jpg I like it!

RADS VERSUS RAD FANS

There are two heat problems that must be controlled. Engines are best when operating within a tight range specific to the engine and its set up. One occurs when the car is moving and there is airflow and the other occurs when there is insufficient airflow, (when the car is not moving or moving slowly). Measures must be taken to achieve the desired range in ALL ambient conditions.

Both improve when there is a better radiator but the second situation is more effectively dealt with a fan, assuming the tuning has be properly done. I have been using the same brand of fans that the MMC adopted in the very late in the day. However, my fans have a greater capacity than theirs. SPAL. Check the CFM they push and choose the most powerful. Classics have a engine bay designed for 36 bhp. The difference is cost is minor between CFM. So check the fan make of the radiator manufacturer you choose. They can fit a SPAL or you can have one sent to them.

Improving the rad without addressing the fan capacity invariably leads to frustration.
