Euan,
I've lost to former colleagues this year, both just over 60, one by 3 months. Life is to be lived...because you just never know. Enjoy Ferrari 3, roadsters are best, whatever the weather!

Ewan .... It's a Ferrari .... you may well live to regret it ... but like all the beautiful things in our lives that won't really matter 🙂

I sold my 2010 Land Rover Puma 110 SX station wagon in February, Owned since new and sadly missed! It was immaculate and only 28,000 miles. I would have kept it but I found everything getting just too difficult to look after, too heavy, although I loved driving it and the flexibility it offered in use. I've been an LR man since the age of 19 and this Puma was always going to be my last. I probably sold it too cheap as the phone never stopped and at the end I had people racing to see it from all over the place ;and even though I had told them I had booked a viewing three insisted on setting off just in case the chap hadn't wanted it. He did! and was desperately trying to bank transfer the money before I could sell to anyone else, Of course I wouldn't have, a promise is after all a promise! So I had always wanted a Morgan and quickly I found I was lost without my toy to fettle so I bit the bullet and in some respects I have my Defender back as mechanically they are very similar. Remarkably though the Defender has better build quality but at least I have my toy back! I'm now feeling a little more settled and enjoying the Morgan for what it is, easy to work on, drives with family members and seeing how each gets a different type of pleasure from it, and for me? Well, not having to have a reason to go out in it other than for enjoyment!

Here’s a roadster for anyone with very deep pockets and no friends, a single seater Monza. Had a wander around in Leeds today, glorious weather and a beautiful, friendly city centre, if you’ve never visited, it’s worth a look, maybe even take the Morgan! ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/09/15/IMG_7729.jpeg) ] Wow ! That's a LOT of money tied up in pre-registered Ferraris

Those are mostly V6 hybrids, here to save the planet from global boiling, not that Ferraris do any damage, nobody ever drives them😀

Anyhoo, back to Landy, the choice is huge, which model drives best without compromising the fun factor off road?

Anyhoo, back to Landy, the choice is huge, which model drives best without compromising the fun factor off road? I have not driven the current generation but from the pervious generation, Puma, and back, my vote is on the Puma. I found it much more comfortable than I imagined and long distances were not an issue. A lot has to do with level of equipment and one major thing is the carpeting. It's amazing what a bit of carpet does to quell the noise. Thinking back, it's not only comfortable but also gives the sense of occasion, at least for me. I am off to look at one in a few hours and then have some tough decisions to make - head over heart.

Anyhoo, back to Landy, the choice is huge, which model drives best without compromising the fun factor off road? Having a Puma and previously a TD5, My vote would be for the Puma as the better driver, although "better" is subjective in the context of Defenders. The TD5 is a much more characterful engine than the Transit lump though. Due to a combination of living in an Island 9 by 5, an increasing use of buses and walking and a loss of desire for driving just for driving, the Land Rover has done 400 miles this year and the Morgan 100! If one was to go it would "probably" be the Morgan, but because the Defender has to be kept outside under a Tree, the battle to keep it clean and corrosion free may tip the the balance. A few more years of prevarication left I think.

Here’s a Landy you can have, I went a country tour with a friend in his Polaris this afternoon, he mentioned he needs rid of it. It’s commercial LWB, 27k miles, he’d like £22k plus VAT. I know nothing about landrovers but it does look good. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/09/16/IMG_7747.jpeg) The Polaris buggy is very impressive off road by the way, noisy though.
