Spectacular pictures, thanks for posting them. It’s a pity about the brakes which broke on your break.

Fabulous pics .... the Dolomites truly are spectacular (remind me of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming) .... sorry to hear about the rear drum ... not too bad a fix though hopefully

I had the car for a check at my service station prior to the trip. Sometimes there was a rattle behind my seat but I was not able to locate the problem. The last 300km the rattle was coming back more frequently. After crossing the Grossglockner street with a pass at 2500m I got no brake fading but suddenly one of the rear brakes blocked - happily directly next to a parking bay so I pulled in and got off the street traffic to wait for a tow truck. Everything would have been much more complicated earlier when I was still driving in Italy. That might have ruined my holidays but it happened nearly at home so only minor troubles.

I am envious of how close you live to those high Alpine roads.
Just got back from a trip to Austria including the Grossglockner pass and it was spectacular to say the least.
I gave up the day trip to Salzburg just so I could drive the pass for a second day and visit the disappearing glacier.
Thinking of doing the Swiss Alpine passes next year.
Lucky your brake did not fail at the top of the pass!!!!

Looks like a wonderful journey Hannes. And the Morgan is looking great too. You remind me I must go back to the Grossglockner, maybe tackling it in the south to north direction. And isn't the ÖAMTC a great provider of roadside help? I've needed their help several times, both in the Mog and the Pug, and found them to be excellent.
