One month adter the event, I finally decided to wash VIolet and get rid of the insect cemetry I hate washing the car, but this violet under the light, when clean, makes me love this car even more. 62.700 km today.
Beautiful car and color, does it had a paint protection treatment?

Nothing at all, and in fact in the front it has a lot of stone chips (yes, I should go slower ). A few years ago a semi-pro guy I know has waxed it, but with "classic wax" nothing fancy or technological. And do not think that it was properly painted when it came out from the factory. If I do not forget, later today I will show you a couple of examples of the "fantastic" factory paint job. But it's part of its beauty, this is why I never wanted to have it corrected.

Ale 72, around the time I bought my +8 I well knew what it took to create a beautiful flaw free finish on a machine, having restored the cast-off old sports cars of others to then take pride of place in my garage for a while..(-: As I have typed elsewhere my +8 had been subjected to a nut and bolt restoration by a highly skilled garage business owner who was no stranger to a paint spray gun, or that of the MMC`s average standards in many areas...Today, almost 22 years into ownership of my +8, it wears the scars of the times and miles we have travelled together in the process creating many happy memories. My old +8 has a slight ding on the rear deck where a falling brick hit it while we were enjoying a bit of a Spanish adventure, I could have repaired it years ago, but as you typed it is now just part of the old Mog`s history, and it seems the older I become the more valued some aspects of history seem to matter more than they did in times past... (-:
It seems all to easy to wish to create and maintain perfection and in the process create a garage queen... Perhaps best not to ask me how I know that... (-:
@ruut here it is two examples. On the left the inside of the door handle. You can see the primer and the different paintings. On the right just below the Thesis tail light, you can see that blue and not mhy beloved violet. Of course both are "exaggerated" by the cold light led lamp, but somehow I love these imperfections. And there were a lot more imperfections (after the pic it continues)
@luddite I could not agree more. There are two things, for me. a) Mechanically and functionally it must be perfect. I cannot accept a mechanical noise, or some rust, or some oil/liquid "sweating". I just can't. This is why each single year it goes for service, even now that I use it pretty seldom, having a second car. But it shall be in a condition that I want to be able to go for a 1.000km WE making sure that I have no foreseeable surprise. b) Aesthetically I changed a lot. I do not want to repaint it or fix those sign of times. I know myslelf. I hate having a garage queen car and if I do this paint job I'd then end up in my nightmare scenario: "there are no guilt free miles". Most of all since I have no dent, ding or scratches, just a lot of stone chips. And if (for sure not in the short term) I decide to sell it, I prefer to have 10k less in my pocket and a lot of more driving memories in my head.
PS forgive spell mistakes and the grammar. After sunday lunch with wife and a bottle of my friend Amarone, not sure I can do anything proper except staying on the sofa

To be honest that was a technical stop to start the drone shooting session. There is an Italian guy who wanted to make a video review/test drive. Now he is working on the 6h of videos he took that will end up in a YouTube video of 10/15 min As soon as it is ready I will post it here as well.
