Nope but up here in the frozen North the idiots who cant afford them .Purchase them I call them the pretenious brigade I have no time for people who buy a car because of its badge and think they are one up on their neighbours ( 1 UP IN DEBT ) .THATS HOW I CAME ABOUT MY MOG (another story )
Hence I loved Bristol,s no need to explain why .
As for the boys in blue they dont hit 115mph + with a 20-30ft gap between cars . Or is it that the standard of driving today is sh*t

On the flip side, I don't think there is one make of car that I've seen on our roads that hasn't been driven like a completely prat at one time or another.

BMW, Audi and Mercedes are the obvious targets but Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston quite happily drop into those stereotypes. Then again, so do White Van Men, SUV owners, OAPs in Volvos, kids in MaxPower Saxos and middle aged men in cabriolets...

TRUE I turned to dislike the Swedish cars yet had 5 Volvos . I just got to thinking with all those save your life bits and bobs the drivers thought they could forget driving the car would do it all . Hence One day in the Times colour mag was an ad with a Volvo and a Mog the Mog owner a young lad asking his father can he borrow the Volvo . I was doing less and less miles as the car was thinking and doing things for me ,even warming my arse for me . I wanted to drive a real car , seat of the pants driving . What I wanted was no luxury so I had to do it all myself . I asked the Volvo agents to take my car back and check out 2 mogs at J. MacDonalds a red 4/4 6 month old 2 seater 605 mile and a 4/4 4 seater ( forgot the detail ) . The dealers tried to put me off and flog me a Volvo again . I was thinking about the 4 seater but the dealers went and checked them out and bought it for themselves . That left the 2 seater for me . At 6 months old and 605 miles I asked for the former owners name . Gave him a call to ask about the car . This was his reply WHEN YOU LIVE ON AN ESTATE LIKE I DO , YOU EITHER MOVE WITH THE NEIGBOURS OR MOVE BEYOND THEM I MOVED BEYOND THEM THEY COULD NOT KEEP UP WITH ME , SO I DECIDED TO SELL IT WHAT ARE YOUR NEIGHBOURS LIKE ( oh I live in the back woods mate no snobs down here ) THEN CAME THE I DO HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO LOOK AFTER IT . my reply after he got under my skin was its got bugger all to do with you now its sold thats my business . I asked the lads in Normog who was he and was told he was I bought it for the drive look at me kind of bloke an odd ball .
The Volvo agent put an order in for a new +8 when it arrived sold it on for an extra 5k just as the market dropped . What does get up my nose is people who ask how much I paid for it and whats it worth both the car and the plate . I tell them what my old man told me dont you know its rude to ask .

I usually tell them, "The same as a good saloon car". They usually reply that they thought it would be more.

BTW It was always Volvo and SAAB owners who hogged the middle lane of motorways, sadly today it is my wife

Oddly it was her who asked the questions when she drove along the centre lane of an empty M4 the other night at +80mph "I thought that is what the highway code said", "Hasn't it always said that", "When did it change" (you can supply your own answers to the questions, I expect they would be the same as mine). Of course I was in the dog house for correcting her assumptions.

Hmmm, whilst I accept that some answers are tongue-in-cheek (and some very pleasant) I'm not getting a typical happy Morgan feeling

Judging people with what they drive is for me unfortunately one step away from the mentality that makes people key others' cars. I think we've all seen Lagunas and Mondeos doing 110 in the outside lane when it's lashing it down, it never attracts the same kind of response.

Steve I am in the dog house SWMBO Jnr left me a box of After 8s . I never learn I opened them and left them on the coffee table . My wifes day off work today . I went over to them and thought I will have one . They seemed rather odd she had nicked some and spread them out in the box expecting me not to notice . I shouted have you been at those 8s being as you are on a diet ( sore point ). No I havent touched them was the reply , well the box is a bit short hint hint . You cant live with them and you cant live without them . Women that is not After 8s . So dont ask me for help I cant work my own wife out.
