In view of the fact that two people appear to have mis-interpreted my post I think I ought to clarify. Whilst I have no problem calling anyone arrogant, ignorant or rude if they had blatantly been so, I am not directing this at Lance here; as selective quoting may appear to insinuate.

My comment was made within the analogy we were using and "coming on site" was referring to 'someone' (the funder in the above analogy) coming on 'my building site' and wrongly (IMO) accusing my managemnt of being "a joke".

Whilst I am informed that the second part of your post is correct Thierry as I have said before, production of customer cars has already started and some have already been collected by customers. I guess the six weeks refers to EU or overseas orders, but will see if I can get that confirmed.

I know my own car is finished, but is waiting for some special parts to return to the Works and be fitted. I hope to visit the factory tomorrow and providing I can find the time to do so, I'll publish some photos of my 3W on TM.

Please do, also, please give us a writeup on your thoughts on the car once taking delivery. It would be interesting to hear what a non vehicle publication individual thinks of the vehicle.

Is it possible to tell us when you were originally quoted delivery and how many weeks it is late.

This is a great success story for MMC when we look back in a couple of years !
I suppose lessons learnt are that MMC needs to communicate with customers/dealers about problems a lot sooner.
Then again I would be surprised if they thought they would receive so many orders so soon ?
We all buy Morgan’s because of their uniqueness and not a mass produced off the shelf car!

My order Ivan like yours I guess, was not placed direct with the factory, but through my local Dealer. As I reported on this site In October, my chassis was laid down but with the delays and the festive season holidays, it has taken until now to complete the car.

As there are a number of individual items that I have ordered, this has stopped it being 100% ready, but I will certainly know more when I have had my Works visit. My Dealer has been keeping me very much in the loop on developments, though I do speak to the Works on a regular basis too. !

I might mention in passing that we have bought a couple of other new cars in the last year, one an Abarth 695 where we dealt direct with the factory in Turin. We had to pay for the car in full before they would commence production, and our second payment was never even acknowledged by Abarth, despite numerous emails and phone calls. The car was supposed to be shipped in late Sept/Oct, but was not shipped until December and not registered until Jan 2011 due to paperwork issues originating from Italy. This contrasted markedly with the experience we had with the other marque/Dealer.

We were fortunate in that our local Abarth Dealer was very helpful and registered the car for us without issues, but many others were not so lucky. Most new car purchases are through a Dealer Network, including Mog's, and this should be the first port of call imho, perhaps you disagree.

Did you try to swap your 4/4s for a 3whlr?

Being able to go to the factory and talk to people there is a unique experience, and always a special occasion. Try turning up at Ford, Toyota, etc etc.............
I toured the MG factory at Abingdon - it was not the same.
I toured the TVR factory at Blackpool - it was not the same.
There is something different about the Morgan factory and the people who work there.
Hindsight is a fantastic tool which allows us to view the past in sharp focus. Hindsight tells us that the M3W may have been announced too early. Maybe it was. Only time will tell how successful it becomes, and that success will be judged using hindsight.
Drivers handbooks are just that, and are usually not much help in servicing a car, so Ok, they are unreliable in detail. Maybe if less detail was provided in the handbook it wouldn't date so easily!!!!
I would always use a decent technical manual if I was to get into stripdown mode, or at the very least a Haynes.
Your Dealer is the legal entity with whom you have your contract of sale, and so your Dealer should resolve your issues. Some will be better than others in this respect.
